DIRECTOR of CODE ENFORCEMENT

Town of Ithaca seeks director, responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the operations of the Code Enforcement Department. Enforces NYS Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, NYS multiple residence law, and other codes, ordinances, and regulations relating to construction, occupancy, and land use in the Town. 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, architecture, or closely related field, and four (4) years’ experience in the building design or construction industry, building or housing inspection, code enforcement, or closely related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position, or some relevant combination of education and experience, AND current Department of State (DOS) NYS Code Enforcement Official Certification.
